So, in an effort to help those partners who are new to the whole pregnancy experience I have a list of very important things you should all know about your pregnant woman
1. Feed her constantly
Everyone knows food is important to pregnant women. But what the uninitiated might not realize is that time is of the essence.
The bottom line is, when she says she’s hungry, she means it.
2. Don’t Criticize her Changing Appearance
Pregnant women, as you may or may not know, gain some weight and usually get some stretch marks, it’s only natural.
Never, ever tell her how big she is getting. She knows it. She may not tell you but is super conscious about her changing body. Don’t add to her pain. Just say ‘you look beautiful’ – that should do it!
3. “Pregnancy Brain” is very real
Be kind, she will forget where she kept her car/Bike keys – Just ignore these instances. Don’t worry, things will return to normal once your baby arrives.
4. Sex will not harm the Baby
But that doesn’t mean your Wife will enjoy it! So, consider your wife’s changing sexual needs.
5. She needs Pillow more than you.
Now, don’t make it personal. Of course, she loves you! But when you feel like a whale, the last thing you need is another human in the bed.
So make yourself comfortable on the couch while your wife sleeps with her favorite pillow.
6. Don’t treat her like glass
Your wife is pregnant. She hasn’t turned into glass! Treat her well but don’t over do it.
7. Pregnancy is about her.
Yes, you are Excited about Parenthood.
But she is the one undergoing the changes during Pregnancy.
So allow her to be the center of Attraction.
8. Don’t ask just Do
If your wife asks for an Epidural, don’t ask ‘Are You Sure?’ Go get the Doctor instead.
Yes all you need to do is follow her lead!
9. The Delivery Room
Well, it is your wife who gets to decide who’ll be with her during childbirth.
If she asks you to be around, Great If not, don’t sulk.
10. She Needs those Massages.
11. She is Tired, Not Lazy
I think it can be safe to assume that all of this pain and stress might leave a pregnant woman just a little tired.
Many men may say that a pregnant woman is just being lazy, but that’s bologna!
Think about it, it’s not being lazy when you’re carrying around a second human being in you, is there a reward for that?!
There’s another life inside of you that is feeding off of your own life force; it takes the nutrients and the energy right out of your system and puts it into the baby.
12. Prenatal Visits are important.
13. She Can Be a Little Moody–BLAME THE HORMONES!
Hormones can play a very large role in a woman’s life during pregnancy, like with her odd food cravings.
Women will crave the most absolute weirdest foods when pregnant, and it’s all because of the extra hormones flowing through the body.
If you see her bawling her eyes out after watching a silly movie, don’t mention hormones.
She knows it, you know it – Just don’t make it a subject of Discussion.
14. She is Right
Well, accept that she is Right. If you want Peace at Home.
15. She is Scared.
During pregnancy the man might be scared for whatever reason, but the woman is definitely more scared, and she has every reason to be.
The men need to be there for the woman because there are many things that can worry them.
This is especially the case for first time mothers who have never gone through pregnancy before.
There are so many new things and questions to be answered, answers that can really only be gotten through experience.
